Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa
Arsenal’s win today meant they were placed second in the table, four points behind chelsea with a match in hand. Cesc was motm in my eyes. He made such a difference when he came on in the 56th minute in place of Denilson. Unfortunately, Cesc had to be subbed off twenty eight minutes or so later due to an injury. Hopefully it is something minor. We will keep you updated on it. edit :Update is further below.
Arsenal played well in the first half, having several chances to score: Vermaelen and Arshavin both had a shot at goal early in the first half which were saved by Friedal. Diaby’s header in the 21st minute went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Song’s header also went over the crossbar.Friedal saved another shot again, this time by Eduardo in the 46th minute.
In the 54th minute Eduardo’s free kick was saved by the goalkeeper again.Soon after, Denilson was subbed off for Fabregas. In the 60th minute Friedal saved a shot from Arshavin.In the 64th minute Cesc scored from a direct free kick, after a foul from Dunne. The 81st minute saw another goal from Cesc, with Walcott assisting. If I remmeber correctly, that is his 15th goal of the season. 
Cesc was subbed off soon after for Ramsey. The final goal of the night was scored by Diaby during injury time. Full match report here.

On Cesc’s injury, Wenger told sky sports after the match that:
“It’s a recurrence of his hamstring.We knew that before the game that it was not perfect.I decided to put him on the bench. We were in a situation where he was needed.We’ll see if we have long regrets or short regrets. I don’t believe it’s too bad. He doesn’t think it’s too bad.We’ll have to see if it’s a scar or a slight pull. If it’s a pull again it’s three weeks. So let’s hope it’s only scar tissue.”

Cesc was soooooo Good Yesterday…I hope it’s a short term injury as well!
Diaby has improved alot and that’s good. I also agree Cesc playing was the right decision!

excellent performance from Cesc but it’s a shame he’s injured now. I hope it’s only a short term injury because I’m going to the Bolton game at the Emirates next week and I really want to see him play.
The goal by Diaby was also really good and hopefully we can start a run of wins now. I think Arsene Wenger did the right thing playing Cesc because the points were needed.

Very important game for the Gunners and I am very happy with Cesc performance. He had a
great impact on the win. Wenger took Denilson off because of a recurrence of his back problem.
By the luck we have with injuries the win could cost us deeply. Without Denilson, Cesc and Song who
who was immense today we miss three midfielders which we can not afford. Hope deeply that
Denilson and the injury of our spanish genius is not too bad.

Well done to arsenal and to cesc for two brilliant goals and well done to diabie as well for his goal..i hope that cesc’s injury is not to bad..Excellant game and brilliant football by arsenal once again..i still think that we need a strong center forward.Hopefully arsene wegner will bring someone in january.
