Wenger, Eboue & Van Persie on Cesc

Emmanuel Eboue today spoke to ESPN about Cesc. He spoke about how Cesc’s current form (8 goals and 11 assists in 13 games) and inspirational ways can help Arsenal end their recent trophy drought.

When asked if Cesc could continue his impressive form and lift a trophy for the side, Eboue said: “Why not? We have got some confidence. We can do it, we can do it. But we have to play very well and pray to God.

“I don’t know if I can say he [Fabregas] is the best in Europe! But Fabregas, everyone knows he is a really good player and he gives Arsenal some help in our team.

“He is a good captain and we are very happy for him. The way he plays and the way he scores, we are very happy for him.” Full article here.

Arsene Wenger also spoke about Cesc and the comparisons with other footballers. “I am not too keen on these comparisons [with Ronaldo and Messi] because Cesc is a midfielder,” said Wenger.

“I believe he is one of the best of course and all the rest we leave to the media.

“What is good for me is that he has improved defensively and offensively.

“What is good as well is that he is 22 years old so there is a lot more to come from him. If he keeps the same attitude a lot more will come from him.” Full article here.
