Wenger likens Cesc to Lampard

Wenger spoke about how Arsenal’s new formation would free Cesc, and likened his role to that of Chelsea’s midfielder, Frank Lampard.

“He likes to play deep when you have the ball first, and then join in later.He’s a bit like Lampard in that. He wants to structure the game.

“Cesc likes to be at the start of things and then get on the end of things. And he can push forward more this season because he has two players around him who can defend.”

Pique wants Cesc at Barcelona

I think Pique already mentioned this a couple of months back, but neverthless, he has stated that he would like to see Cesc play at Barcelona next year.

“The arrival of Cesc Fabregas at Barcelona next season would be very positive,” he told Onda Cero Radio.

“I am a lover of the game and with Cesc playing in our midfield we would be even more of a world-class side.”

Here are Cesc’s post match comments:
“It is very easy to play with these team-mates.I am happy with our performance. There is a lot of competition here, which is good.

“There was a little pressure when I was injured, because others were playing and I was unable to. My assist was my natural game, I think of passing before shooting.

“We must win on Wednesday, because we have some difficult away games coming up.”
