Cesc gets told off by Iker

<img src="http://cescfabregasfans.com/photos/1327-2/cesc-fabregas-sp44.jpg" class="medium"

This site summed up Spain’s training match and they had a little bit about Cesc getting told off.

3. Iker Casillas is a firm captain

The Spanish skipper looks to have no time for nonsense. Just before the formal training commenced, some of the players were having a kick about. Cesc Fabregas went a little over the top with a challenge and Casillas was not best pleased. The Real Madrid ace showed he is a leader among men and pulled Fabregas to one side and had a stern word with the Arsenal star.

Merida: Cesc is staying

Fran Merida has also spoken about Cesc in the media. The media really never stop asking questions do they? This is what Merida had to say:

“There have been many rumours about Cesc going to Barca and Madrid, but he is delighted with the project here.He hasn’t finished at Arsenal yet.”

Confederates Cup – Spain 1 Iraq 0

Spain latest challenge in the Confederates Cup was Iraq. The match kicked off at 3pm and victory for Spain would see them through to the semi-finals of the competition.

Spain, unsurprisingly were dominant throughout the match and its quite surprising the score line was only 1-0. Although the dominance gained them victory against the Iraqis, some of Spain’s finishes were rather poor.

David Villa was the man who took Spain into the lead, with a first half-header. Villa then struck the side netting. Fernando Torres also had a shot which crept wide of the goal and Santi Cazorla also sent ball just past the post. Capedevila also tried his luck with little effect. Xavi Alonso also demonstrated his trademark by testing the Iraqi goalkeeper with a long-range effort.

Iraq were hardly threatening, although they tried hard to get an equaliser. However, Spain were honestly just too much for them.

Cesc was on the bench and was not used as a substitute. :( You can find a full match report and highlights here.

An important match neverless, David Villa now becomes Spains’ second highest scorer behind the legend Raul. Also, this was Spain’s 14th successive victory, which now totals to 34 unbeaten matches, which brings them one short of equaling the current record, which is held by Brazil.

Congrats Spain & we hope to see Cesc play in the Semi-finals.

I have added some photos of Cesc training with the rest of the National team before the Iraq game and a new photo of Cesc with fans and in training (you can clearly see the new hairstyle) in the latest photos section

We’ve added a new poll on the side of the page. Go and vote! :)

  • Hey Meme. :) Thanks. I’m hoping cesc scores a few goals too. ^^

Lol. He really does like to shock us with his hairstyles. I’m not really liking this one. Maybe the other players were teasing him about his previous one and so he decided to change it.

Iker probably did say something to Xabi too if he said something to Cesc.

Cesc is close to some of the players more than others. But you would expect that in any team. Him and Pique get on really well, and he himself said that he talks to Alonso often. In the pics of him arriving in South Africa, him and Torres looked like they were having a laugh. And him and Villa seem as though they are good friends. It’s difficult to tell who is closest friends are though because international teams don’t really spend that much time together.

  • Ah. I’m away from the football world for two days and Arsenal have already signed somebody O_o Yay! A defender. We really needed to sign one.And he’s 23! I’ve been reading info about him and he has had quite a lot of experience, and was Ajax club captain. ^^ I’m happy that we have signed a defender, now another player or two should hopefully complete the squad.

Egypt beat italy????That’s unexpected. :s But hey, all the credit to Egypt.

A lot of people want Italy and Brazil ^^

  • Hey guys!!!

Looks like alot of people want Spain to face Italy and then Brazil. We will have to wait and see!!!

Spain’s next match is against South Africa tomorrow (Saturday 20 June) at 7.30 (UK time).

Emma – transfer talk seems to be everywhere at the moment. It is pretty annoying to be honest, especially since players like Cesc keep having to clarify thier position. I mean news channels should just post official signings, rather than speculation.

Hey Kate – welcome back! Cesc should be fine for tomorrow. I think Alonso needed to calm down in training at least! lol
Yes, Arsenal have singed Vermaelen. I dont think he is hot lol. Here a link to pictures http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/vermaelen-images?image=1. It doesnt look like he has a number yet.

  • Cesc was injured through Alonso’s tackle in training. The club doctor said he would be fine for this match though. Maybe Spain didn’t want to risk him just in case.

Congrats to Villa!!!! And I hope Spain beat Brazail’s record.I’m surprised that the scoreline is 1-0. Everyone said that Iraq defended really well.

I hope they get Italy, and then Brazil if they reach the final. Those would be two amazing fixtures.
