Cesc at Arsenal's football academy in Dubai

Arsenal have set up a football Academy in Dubai to teach kids how to play the Arsenal way.(Source) Last week Cesc went to visit the Academy, and this is what he had to say:

“I think it is wonderful that the children in Dubai are getting the chance to learn from world-class coaches.

The coaching is based around the same principles that Arsene Wenger teaches us in the first team. This is a great chance for children to realise their potential while having great fun at the same time.”

Cesc has changed his hair style.He now has a blonde mohawk thing going on. You can see a picture of cesc with his new hair in the latest photos section. It seems like he has been influencedd by some of his spanish teammates! Your thoughts on the new hairstyle?

Cesc on being captain

Arsenal recently posted an interview with Cesc on their site. Credit to ReconYoshuka who put the video up on youtube. In the following video Cesc talks about being captain,being a captain to players who are ten years older than him, fines, and arranging days out for the team. Enjoy!

Full time: Spain 6 Azerbaijan 0 – much expected to be honest. Hatrick from David Villa, and one each from Albert Riera, Danial Guiza and Fernando Torres.

Hopefully I will be able to find some pictures soon. I dont think we will do a match report seeing as it was a friendly and no-one else seems to be covering them match. lol

Just an update for those who cant see the match (International friendly between Azerbaijan and Spain.)

Its now 3-0 to Spain. All three goals have been scored by David Villa. The third came from a penalty, after Cesc was taken down. He seems to have a cut on his head and was bleeding. It is now half-time, so lets see if he is fit to continue!

Cesc was substituted before the secnd half got underway!

I have been internet-deprived until now.

Yep the match kicked off at 5pm Uk time. Its still 0-0 and the good news is that CESC has started in the line-up!

Plu – Well Nasri didnt exactly have the same hairstyle. He just seemed to have blonde bits in his hair! This was near the end of the season. lol I think Torres has something similar in his earlier days. But nothing beats old-school Ljunberg red hair!!!

Good on Gibbs! So proud. Im surprised the match is still goal-less, Azerbaijan seem to be playing quite well. Lets see what happens.

somi- the friendly match tomorrow is kicking off at 5:00 in the UK in the afternoon.Fingers crossed that Cesc starts.

I’m sure Spain will be able to win. At the moment, they seem invincible. They are the dream team.
Gibbs scored two goals today in the u21 england match Azerbaijan

loool. I’m like you all too. I get so bored in the summer because there is not much football around. Thank god for the tournmanets. The best summers are always the ones with either the world cup or euros on. Three games virtually every day for two weeks= heaven.

Seems there is a consensus about cesc’s hair! lol. :S
Hopefully it will go back to normal soon.

About missing football, well Spain have a friendly against Azerbaijan tomorrow (9th June, 2009) which will be there only match before the Confederates Cup kicks off on 14th June. Hopefully we will see Cesc play.:)

Azerbaijan are a relatively lesser side, with respect, although Iker Cassillas says Spain will take the friendly seriously. So I think Spain should win comfortably.

Hey guys!

We promise we will back to the usual business soon!

Firstly, Cesc’s hairstyle… its rather Samir Nasri inspired.. i am not liking it! lol

I dont think Cesc will leave this summer. I just renewed my membership with Arsenal, and hope to see him PLAY alot this coming season.

Is anyone looking forward to the Confederates Cup? Im going to be covering the matches. I just hope Cesc gets alot of first team time, he deserves it!

hi, im new to the site but absolutely love it!! Its so great thatyou can keep up to date with all the latest cesc news and, especially pictures. i’m not an arsenal fan but love cesc, aww he’s so cute. i really hope he stays in the premiership for at least one more season . hi plu , you are welcome i am doing my best to keep up with his latest .
william is injured at the moment , a club in france called PSG wanted him last january , but now since he is injured and will miss the pre season , i doubt he will move , may be next january .
about wenger , i am not so sure , he looked angry with the fans couple of weeks ago and blasted the board too . i think he will stay untill 2011 and then will make up his mind .
cesc is staying , at leas for one more season . his move to barcelona is a matter of time .

Thanks Kate for the info! I’m really busy with exams at the moment and so I haven’t had time to go scouring over the internet for the latest on Cesc, so your help is greatly appreciated.
It’s a shame that Iniesta is injured because it is great seeing him play. But I agree with you, this will mean Cesc gets more playing time

About Wenger- he might leave after 2011 or he might not. If the club are doing well then I think he will stay on. But if we have’t won anything by then, then I could see him making way for another manager to have a go at winning trophies. I hope the former occurs. I really want to see him stay at Arsenal after 2011. I really cannot imagine an Arsenal without Arsene, and I really really cannot imagine Arsene managing another club.That would be really wierd.
Wenger is loyal. If he wasn’t he would have taken up Real Madrid’s offer when they came knocking on his door. He decided to stay on. He has belief in this team and wants to see it through.

About William, before his captaincy got taken away, he talked about possibly moving to a french club (as in he woul like to at some point). I can’t remember which one. I’m hoping William doesn’t leave, but I woyuldn’t be surprised if he did.

And Cesc- well he definitely won;t be leaving this season. He won’t be able to get into the Barcelona side with Iniesta and Xavi there. But at some point he will leave, as much as I don;t ant to think about it. He has always stated that later on in his career he will like to move back to Barca. I’m hoping that that happens after he has won a few trophies at Arsenal

friends, I wanna know that what do you think about our next season. probably some one will leave for example William . . . he was not like a real Gunner! who knows that where will he go ?If some one know it please tell me. But the most important thing is about Arsene & Cesc! Manager & our dear captain !Our previous Capain (Thierry)went to Barca! I`m sure you can remember it, It was 2 years ago. I have heard that Cesc will go to Barca too(but in my opinion he should stay here until his contract ends (I mean 2014)) also Arsene will leave after 2010-2011 season!I`m not sure a bout this but I have heard it many times! I thought that Wenger is loyal like Fergusen!
