Cesc doesn't like collecting fines

Cesc spoke to Arsenaltv online about leaving fining duties to Almunia.(source)He was talking about his responsibilities as captain, and he said, “The only thing I don’t get involved with is the fines because it is too much work. I leave it to Manuel Almunia.

The job used to belong to Jens Lehman, and he was always getting killed by all the players because no one wants to pay the fines, so I said, listen I don’t want that job.

Almunia is doing the job now, so we changed that a little bit. Everyone always paid Jens, because if they didn’t, they knew it was double.”

I can completely understand why they paid Jens the fine. You don’t want to get on the wrong side of him.I always thought the mananger collected the fines.

Cesc will take part in the confederation’s cup

The Spanish squad for the Confederation’s cup was released today, and Cesc was one of the midfielders included. The Spainihs squad will be meeting up this Thursday to start training.

Here is the full list of the squad:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Pepe Reina, Diego Lopez .
Defenders: Raul Albiol, Alvaro Arbeloa, Joan Capdevila, Carlos Marchena, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, Sergio Ramos.
Midfielders: Xabi Alonso, Sergio Busquets, Santi Cazorla, Cesc Fabregas, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, David Silva, Juan Mata, Albert Riera.
Forwards: David Villa, Daniel Guiza, Fernando Torres, Fernando Llorente.

Spain is in group A, alongside Iraq, South Africa and New Zealand. They will play all three of these team, and if they progress, then they will face the runners up of group b( United Sates, Italy, Brazil,Egypt) in the semi-finals. The other semi-final match will be between the runners up of Group A and the winners of Group B. The winners of both semi-finals wil then meet for the final which is on the 28th of June.

Here is Spain’s schedule for the group games, and the semi-final and final dates:

14th June: Spain V New Zealand
17th June: Spain v Iraq
20th June: Spain v South Africa
24th June: First semi-final
25th June:2nd semi-final
28th June: Final

Cesc wants Arsenal to sign Alonso

There have been quotes surfacing in several newspapers and sky sports from Cesc, in which he says that Alonso is the player that Arsenal need in the middle.

“We have lost big players, but the boss knows what he is doing. The days of signing a new player aren’t finished.

“We need someone in the middle to make competition and make a difference, plus give us a new dimension.I think that is all we need. The rest is perfect.Xabi would be great. He’s experienced and can score goals. I’m sure the boss is aware of that fact.”

No doubt Xabi would be great to have at Arsenal. But I don’t see it happening. Arsenal did make a last minute bid for him last summer, but it was rejected. And Benitez has said that he is not letting Alonso go.

    cesc went to arsenal soccer school in dubai to encourage the children to play arsenal football . awesome :D oh and ineista is injured . dont get me wrong , i am not happy he is injured , spain will miss his perfect fotball , but may be cesc will play now more often .

    Hi Mimmy. :) Spain is playing against them on Tuesday at 5pm (that’s the time the match is on in the UK.)

    I heard that Barca want to sign Cesc for next season n offering 45 to 50 mil but they will let Cesc play with Arsenal for another season.They doing so coz they dont want other club to get Cesc………that is the rumour i heard.

    I agree with Plu….Cesc wont go if he is not in 1st eleven.

    Yep. Those rumours occur every year though, so I wouldn’t take any notice of them. At the moment, Xavi and Iniesta are at their peak, and their is no way Cesc would replace them in the Barca team, so he would be a sub if they brought him. Cesc is probably aware of that, so I doubt he will move yet. Probably in a few more years. And he has only been made captain recently so he will want to prove himself.
    The money figures are ridiculous.

    Barry joined Man city, and is earning more than Ronaldo per week. Football is going crazzzzzzzzzzzy.

    xabi plays very well , i couldnt forgive gim for a while too fati , but to be honest when i watched the tackle again , it was 50 – 50 and the situation could have been so much worse .
    has anyone heard of the rumours linking fabregas with barcelona ? they say barcelana is quite sure fabregas will join them this summer for about 40 or 50 millions O_o

    I don’t think he only has £15 million. That is what some of the press have been saying, but I fail to see how they got that information, considering Arsenal ALWAYS remain tightlipped over their finances. I’m sure Wenger has more than £15 million to spend. Whether he spends the amount he has is another matter.But then again, like Cesc said earlier in the season, price doesn’t matter, it is the quality of the player which does.

    Yep. Agree with you Kate. We really do need another CB. Many think Gallas may leave this summer, after everything that has happened. I can see why he would want to leave. It will be a shame if he does, because he was one of our best defenders.

    about alonso , i like him – i mean his football – :D .
    he is talented and experienced and can take the place of flamini easily and arsene knows that , but i dont see him coming . first of all benitez said that he isnt for sale , and even if he is , i dont think we can afford him . acc. to my latest info , arsene has only 15 million to spend this summer – seriously ? – and he offered this sum of monry to buy him last summer and they said no.
    i think we need a good c.b too . acc. to my calender , gallas has a good chance to miss the pre-season and i dont think djourou or silvestre are good .

    oh and cesc was named too in the confederation’s cup :D great :D good luck to him .
