Cesc: We have to be more clinical in front of goal
Cesc spoke after the Man United game. Here is what he had to say:
“How much stronger are we at home? We showed that in the league, by beating them and scoring two goals.Let’s think about the league, and the tie is still open. You look at the 1-0 scoreline, and we have seen worse things than that in the Champions League.
“Man United deserved to win, but now it is up to us to play well at the Emirates and beat them.
“We have to be more clinical in front of goal – that’s for sure.
We passed the ball a lot and combined very well, but we were not clinical enough. That is what we have to improve.â€

Arsenal 0-1 Manchester United
That was quite a frustrating game. The first half was all Man United. The only goal came from O’ Shea in the 16th minute. Very poor defending- three man united players were left unmarked during the corner that the goal was conceded. Arsenal played better in the second half, but were still not an attacking threat. The best chance came to Bendtner, who put too much power into the header, thus causing the ball to go wide. This scoreline makes things tricky. If Man United score in the next leg, then Arsenal will have to score three goals to be level will them, due to the away goal rule. Almunia was man of the match for me. He made some very important saves throughout the match.The supporters were fantastic. You could hear them chanting and singing during the whole match. Full match report here.

Cesc: “We can make history”
Cesc has spoken of tomorrow’s match against Manchester United. His statements were reported by the Telegraph. It’s the first time that Manchester and Arsenal are meeting in the competion’s history.
“When English teams face each other in the Champions League it can look more like a domestic league or cup match than a European game, but we need to realise it’s not like that and we just want to be in the final again.
“To be in two Champions League finals in four years could be one of the best things in the history of the club and we’re determined to make it happen.
“We respect United as one of the best in the world. It will be a massive occasion
“These games are very difficult for both sides – the team who defend better will be the one who go through. The smallest mistake can count.â€

i am sorry guys but i cant see this . i cant see arsenal at rome . next leg will be tough . it is kind of impossible to keep a clean sheet and we cant score that sum of goals in one game against amn utd .
and rvp will pass the fitness test on monday . it doesnt seem right .
last night they kept us too quiet . i could barely see cesc or walcott or nasri go forward with the ball . we were a bit too defensive which i didnt like . after each game i keep asking my self what is the problem in our defence. gibbs was good . clichy is out for the 2nd leg
one last thing , there should be a big fat question mark on our fitness coach , there so many players injured at the same time and ther r pickng injuries so easily O_o

Thanks for updating Vero. Cesc is right. We do need to be more clinical. But we also have to make sure we do not many any defensive errors. Lat nights was bad. Three players were left unmarked when that goal was scored. I think last night, the formation just didn’t work right.We were not a threat at all. Cesc certainly didn’t look like he was able to play freely.I’m praying we manage to score many in the next game. If Man united score a goal, then Arsenal will have to score three to be level. That will be very difficult, so here is hoping we don’t concede any.
Eduardo and Silvestre are both out for the Portsmouth match. Eduardo just keeps on getting injuries.Hope he recovers soon.Clichy is ruled out for the next two upcoming games which is a shame.Gah. Our defence.
