I hope Cesc stay for 10 year but I don’t think he will I think he goes to play for Barcelona when Xavi is to be replaced in a few years… just my thought

Robbie- I agree with you there. Things are looking good, and they can only get better with all our players coming back from injury I’d still be a bit cautious before saying fourth place is a cert though. Villa have a 10 day break before they play their next premiership game, whilst we have two games in between so it will be tough. But hopefully Tottenham will win against them (can’t believe I just said that but hey….we need fourth)

Theo and Eduardo are going to be in the squad for Sunday.

And then it was THREE! ….. the possibilities of these next few months are astounding…..Wenger will have his “first choice” XI back soon…..and then who knows?!

Fourth place a dead cert now, but lets not stop there …..onward….even if we don’t win silverware this season (I don’t believe that for a second – Wembley anyone! – Hell, I hear Rome is beautiful in May!)…

Although, I admit it will just be nice to see lil’ Cescito back “pulling the strings” in our midfield, Eduardo scoring for fun, Theo blazing a trail up the wing and Tomas cutting in for a spectacular curler!

I can’t believe I’m thankful to Man Shitty (and Stoke too) but I am – for beating (Stoke for drawing with) the Villains! Three points separate us now… and the Toffees drew so they’re four points behind us instead of two.

The results couldn’t have been any better. Thank you Man City!

If we finish in the top 4 then I don’t think we have to worry about anyone going anywhere so let’s just focus on that

Bri- Your prediction about the drought ending yesterday was spot on XD. And yeah,I know what you mean. Logically we should have won a lot of the games we drew but then we didn’t and the doubt creeps in. I am always way more confident when we play the other ‘big four’rather than when we play the team lower down.
Yes! Aston Villa lose three points. So we are three behind them and we have a higher goal difference Aston Villa self-destructing??

As for Cesc’s comments about leaving if Wenger does, I’m not surprised. I think that is the case with quite a few of our players. They are very loyal to Arsene for having put faith in them.And a lot of our players join partially because of Wenger’s reputation. All those fans calling for Wenger’s head really should consider the implications this will have….

I’m officially a Man City supporter for today only lol I tell you if we can close the gap it would really give us a shot in the arm

Here’s what Arsene had to say :-

On the overall performance…
“The game was decided in the first half where all the important facts happened. After our early goal, coming back to 1-1 gave them hope and belief. But we found goals number two and three just before half time and you could see our third goal was a big blow to them. In the second half we controlled the game and created more chances that we didn’t take but I thought goals four and five were there to be taken.”

On ending the goal drought…
“It is a strange situation because we have created the same amount of chances as we did tonight in many games but didn’t win. We are on a long unbeaten run since the beginning of November and I still believe that if we had taken our chances in a few of the draws we could still be in the title race. Now, we want to focus on reducing the gap with Aston Villa and maybe other teams.”

On the performance of his frontline…
“The two strikers did very well. Nicklas Bendtner looks like he is improving from month to month. Andrey Arshavin is improving from game to game as well – in his class and composure although he has been a bit unlucky in his finishing and maybe he thought he had scored before the ball had gone in. Overall you can see the class is there.”

On Bendtner answering his critics…
“It is difficult when you’re a fan of Arsenal you are always comparing the players with people from five, six or 10 years ago. But you have to accept that a guy who is 19 or 20 years old will get better every three months. He has shown tonight he has the talent to be an Arsenal player and he’s on the right path to mature. I liked his presence, his determined attitude and I thought the way he took people on showed he has improved a lot.”

On the superb reception from the Arsenal fans at the Hawthorns…
“That’s very nice but less important because I cannot dribble on the pitch. The away fans have always been great to me.

“I don’t have a problem with the fans being disappointed, that is normal and I never complain about that. It is down to us to make people happy not down to the people outside the pitch to make us happy. We need to get our priorities right and when you don’t manage that I understand when people aren’t happy.”

We won! We ended the drought. OK, so it was against relegation candidate WBA but we needed the boost. Bendtner was actually unselfish at times (rare statement indeed!). I wish Arshavin had scored though. That would be really fantastic. And I wish the second half had produced more goals.

Arshavin really is class! Knew he would be of course. When he’s 100% fit and has players around him like Cesc we are going to see something really special

Great first half but the last 30 minutes were pretty dire. A wins a win though. Least the boys have rediscovered where the net is and seem to have figured out that’s where the ball needs to go… it’s a start! Nice work from Bendtner, Arshavin and Toure in the first half

I’m so happy and relieved. Logically I knew we should always win but after the last few weeks I was still a bit nervous… so I’m glad to see us get a win! Now we’ve gotta hope that Man Shitty can beat Villa tomorrow night!
