Wenger: Cesc can still be here in 10 years time

Wenger has said he hopes that Cesc stays at Arsenal for a very long time. Here are Wenger’s comments in full:
“I hope his future will last longer than mine because I think he can still be here in 10 years,â€
“He should be one of the bases of this club. I think the Club should be built around personalities like Cesc and that’s why I hope he will still be here.
“He was born in 1987 and he is 22 years old in 2009 and at 32 he will still play.”
Cesc’s comments about considering his future at the club, if Wenger left, were made during an interview on Catalunya radio recently.(source)
“If Wenger leaves, I will think of moving on.
“I’m happy at Arsenal because it’s the ideal club. If at the present time there’s a team in Europe that plays like Barca, it’s Arsenal.
As for his injury he said,“I prefer not speaking about my injury”, but adds “I want to be back playing at the start or in mid-April.”
W.B.A 1 – 3 Arsenal

Get In! The drought has broken! A brace from Nicklas Bendtner and a captain’s performance from Kolo Toure who chipped in with both a goal and an assist in the first-half, saw the gunners to a confidence boosting win over West Bromwich Albion.
Arsenal put in an excellent attacking performance against a defensively naive West Brom, taking an important three points here to put pressure on Villa.
The away support were as always in fine voice so they get a special mention, as does Almunia and new boy Arshavin who played very well and chalked up his first assist, I’m sure it will be the first of many! A good team performance overall. Match Report

I hope Cesc stay for 10 year but I don’t think he will I think he goes to play for Barcelona when Xavi is to be replaced in a few years… just my thought

Robbie- I agree with you there. Things are looking good, and they can only get better with all our players coming back from injury
I’d still be a bit cautious before saying fourth place is a cert though. Villa have a 10 day break before they play their next premiership game, whilst we have two games in between so it will be tough. But hopefully Tottenham will win against them (can’t believe I just said that but hey….we need fourth)
Theo and Eduardo are going to be in the squad for Sunday.

And then it was THREE! ….. the possibilities of these next few months are astounding…..Wenger will have his “first choice” XI back soon…..and then who knows?!
Fourth place a dead cert now, but lets not stop there …..onward….even if we don’t win silverware this season (I don’t believe that for a second – Wembley anyone! – Hell, I hear Rome is beautiful in May!)…
Although, I admit it will just be nice to see lil’ Cescito back “pulling the strings” in our midfield, Eduardo scoring for fun, Theo blazing a trail up the wing and Tomas cutting in for a spectacular curler!
It’s good to be a GOONER!

I can’t believe I’m thankful to Man Shitty (and Stoke too) but I am – for beating (Stoke for drawing with) the Villains! Three points separate us now… and the Toffees drew so they’re four points behind us instead of two.

The results couldn’t have been any better. Thank you Man City!
If we finish in the top 4 then I don’t think we have to worry about anyone going anywhere so let’s just focus on that

Brilliant results for The Arsenal! Now Villa have a run of tough games and we should be able to get back into 4th position in the next month. C’mon Gunners

We scored from open play!!!!!
Go Bendtner! And nice work Arshavin by the sounds of it.Go Toure too. His first goal this season right.
I’ve read that Wenger was not happy with Ramsey. What happened?
I cannot believe I missed Fran’s premiership debut for Arsenal.:( Happy 19th Birthday Fran! There have been a lot of Arsenal player birthdays lately huh.
Bri- Your prediction about the drought ending yesterday was spot on XD. And yeah,I know what you mean. Logically we should have won a lot of the games we drew but then we didn’t and the doubt creeps in. I am always way more confident when we play the other ‘big four’rather than when we play the team lower down.
Aston Villa self-destructing??
Yes! Aston Villa lose three points. So we are three behind them and we have a higher goal difference
And Everton drew. This is good day for the Arsenal
Thanks Sam!
As for Cesc’s comments about leaving if Wenger does, I’m not surprised. I think that is the case with quite a few of our players. They are very loyal to Arsene for having put faith in them. And a lot of our players join partially because of Wenger’s reputation. All those fans calling for Wenger’s head really should consider the implications this will have….

We won! We ended the drought. OK, so it was against relegation candidate WBA but we needed the boost. Bendtner was actually unselfish at times (rare statement indeed!). I wish Arshavin had scored though. That would be really fantastic. And I wish the second half had produced more goals.

well wba arent man utd so i don’t want to go overboard but man we needed this
we needed to play a team so bad they could make all our players look good so i think this is just what the doc ordered and now we just need to win our next to get our groove back

Hats off to Bendtner, Arshavin, Toure and Almunia. Poor Clichy had a bit of a horror show. Maybe he needs a rest.
Arshavin really is class! Knew he would be of course. When he’s 100% fit and has players around him like Cesc we are going to see something really special

Great first half but the last 30 minutes were pretty dire. A wins a win though. Least the boys have rediscovered where the net is and seem to have figured out that’s where the ball needs to go… it’s a start! Nice work from Bendtner, Arshavin and Toure in the first half

I’m so happy and relieved. Logically I knew we should always win but after the last few weeks I was still a bit nervous… so I’m glad to see us get a win! Now we’ve gotta hope that Man Shitty can beat Villa tomorrow night!
