hi Plu Maori design is very similar to polynesian – lol I don’t know how to explain it there’s just certain motifs that are Maori and certain looks. For example the big tattoo that Robbie Williams had was a Maori tattoo. If you are interested, you can put polynesian tattoo and then maori tattoo in google and then go into images and you’ll see lots of examples and you’ll probably get an idea of what I mean as I can’t really explain it so well

I’ve started re-doing some of the caps bigger. I’ll replace them all later as I should be able to make them clearer too.

Bri, tattoos are not only for appearance sake though. As it said in the article players have them because “they help them improve their mental strength, to remember who they are, where they have come from and where they are going. The tattoos act as protections and reaffirm, they help them return to believe in themselves. To remember that if they have been great, they can be great again.” Now considering the game is what 80-90% mental and considering how injuries and loss of form can make players feel, if a tattoo can in some way help a player then all power to them.

Ah-ha! So that’s the tattoo. I read that article about that tattoo artist back when it first came out in Sport and it said Cesc had been the most recent customer so I thought he had had a tattoo done but didn’t know what it looked like. Thanks a lot Plu for finding that and posting it

Polynesia is a region. NZ has the largest polynesian population of any country in the world so there are a lot of tattoo artists who specialise in that in this country. Tattoos are very common in the culture… they are part of the rite of passage and many Polynesian men have huge tattoos that cover substantial parts of their body. The Prison Break tattoo idea was taken from this. Polynesian tattoos use particular designs and patterns of the kind that Cesc has, one of the distinguising features is that they have a lot of solid ink in the design, this makes them especially painful to get. The tattoo Cesc has… with it being on the elbow… would have hurt like hell.

Hey Plu I would say 99.9% it’s real. It’s a polynesian tattoo.

Rosie said about a week ago I think that Cesc might have gotten a tattoo but she wasn’t sure. They had an article in sport.es about a tattoist in Barcelona who did a tatt for Titi Henry and it was saying how he was a very famous tattoo artist and was popular with players who believe the tattoos can be good luck. They listed in the article a lot of his customers and said Cesc had been a recent customer. Rosie thought the CF was too old for the article to be talking about that… but she wasn’t 100% sure so she didn’t post it as news but now it looks like this must be the recent tattoo he had done.
