Cesc's Knee Improving

6 January 2009

{ Update Jan 7 – Good news. Marca report that Cesc is continuing his recovery in Barcelona and that he said, “I have been resting, expecting to see an improvement in my knee and, luckily, I see that already it is somewhat better and I am already impatient to be able to return to action.” Two more pictures of Cesc attending Saturday’s match against Plymouth Argyle are in the photos section}

Here is a video clip from Nike id of Cesc Fabregas, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo’s boots being made. It is really quite interesting and at the end you can see Cesc trying them on.

Feliz día de Reyes!

We would like to wish all the spanish fans a happy day! Here are two pictures of Cesc visiting the 3 kings as a child.

I miss cesc very much and cant wait to see him playing!

  2. emma says:

Good news that Cesc recover faster……cant wait to see him on the pitch again.Miss him so much n the games are not as interesting as before without Cecs playing.

    hope Cesc will recover soon.

  3. ~meri says:

Cesc is already impatient 0_0 he will be crazy impatient by April!! Good news he is healing maybe he can make a speedy come back!

  4. bri says:

It’s been less than 3 weeks and I already miss him. Still we are going to have to be patient a while longer yet.

I’m not taking much notice of this soap opera that is Arshavin. I think the more noise and the more public things are the less likely it is? If it was really happening it would be done and announced wouldn’t it? Window has been open a week. Whatever

  5. george says:

it’s going to be a frustating few months for Cesc,,, he’ll be itching to get out there,,, heres hoping for a swift recovery

    thanks for the update fonz

  6. jilli says:

awww thats good news thanks for keeping us updated

  7. TA says:

Good news on Cesc…this first month is very important. Hopefully all is on track! Perhaps he might even be back ahead of time…heres hoping

  8. fonz says:

    that’s interesting!

I meant to say that it was good to hear that Cesc is on the mend too hope his recovery keeps going well

  9. Rose says:

Thanks Fonz :D I just saw a report in The Mirror that Arshavin has supposedly arrived in London for talks with Arsenal and is staying at the Landmark hotel with his wife Yulia – of course it still doesn’t mean anything for definite.

Arsene might not say anything on any of this and how true it is until his press conference Friday although he might say something sooner. I don’t know.

Hi Diane :) Yes the sooner he is back the better :D

  10. fonz says:

Skysports just talked to the MD of Zenit again and are reporting

Arsenal are the only club Zenit are in talks with
They are going to discuss the deal further this afternoon
They said the 20M fee is negotiable and the structure of the deal is something they are looking at.
The 10-14 days to complete a deal time-frame hasn’t changed

Arshavins agent is claiming that Zenit are saying all this to try and encourage interest from other clubs to keep them informed so they can come in and compete and create a bidding war scenario

    So that’s the latest.

No denial from Arsenal as yet dun dun dun

  11. Diane says:

Thanks for video, Please to see Cesc is getting better and will be
back soon because we really need him back in the team.
Hope we really do sign Andrei Arsharvin l think he would be a good signing if we can get him for the right price.
Most of the papers say we are going to sign him except the daily star they say we are not his wages are to high.
So we will have to wait and see.

  12. Rose says:

lol Arshavin has Borat as his agent :D I just did a *quickie* update and I’ll do a proper one later when I have more time – but I was pleased to see some news that Cesc’s recovery is on track – the poor guy is gonna find the wait until he can play again pretty tough going. Can’t come soon enough.

  13. George says:

If you think that was funny how about this one,,, lachter was asked,,, is Arshavin keen on a move to Emirates Stadium, and Lachter replied: “Maybe he would like to go to the moon but for now whatever he wants is not relevant.”,,, I have a feeling Andrei probably doesn’t want to go to the moon and that he thinks what he wants is pretty relevant :D

  14. Rose says:

lol this Lachter dude is funny, “they made the story up from their own imagination” funniest quote of the window so far and sums up the media really

Oh well I guess I’m just going to go back to being 100% skeptical about everything Georgie :D I mean the Sky report to be fair was very convincing and maybe there have been talks and the agent just isn’t in the loop – who knows? I mean Sky named the reporter who spoke to the Club’s GM so it sounded on the level. But you never can tell lol So I’ll just ignore everything till something is official :D

  15. crazygal_miLa says:

erm.. Arshavin coming to Arsenal?? sounds interested.. i onli managed to see him played during the Euro 2008 so; i cant comment much.. there’s so many hype abt him during dat period (‘Arshavin vs Cesc’ comparison during da semi) but Cesc managed to put up a brilliant game as compared to him cuz he was invisible in dat game.. maybe i cant used dat to judge him but well; we’ll see when he don da Gunner jersey & play alongside wif da players.. but i’ll prefer Alonso to him though he ‘injured’ Cesc during da game.. :)

  16. george says:

Sambo he came to London last month for the Tottenham game and was supposedly shown around the training ground them,,, so it’s not like he made a special trip just for that,,, so his agent might not have realised and it wouldn’t have necessarily come to the tabloids attention at the time.

Anyway,,, time will tell. If we sign him then we’ll know it was true

  17. kim li says:

I like Arshavin he very good in UEFA Cup. Go on Arsene buy him for ME!!

  18. emma says:

I only watched Arshavin play during semifinal EURO…but at that time our CESC was superb….fabulous,marvellous…..so really cannot say how his performance like ..but it seemed coz of him Russia enter semi n zenit won UEFA n against Man U.

Alonso is much better this season….i used to watch Liverpool games.Alas he also got injured.

    Haha George…I like the name….ARSENAL,ARSENE n ARSHAVIN……3R.

  19. sam says:

I’ve seen TA in a dress and he’s not exaggerating. I’m still in therapy…

Ok well The Mirror says we are paying 10 mill the Sun says we are paying 12 mill The Daily Star (which is on a par with toilet paper as papers go) claim an Arsenal insider says they’re no longer interested because Arshavin is too expensive and they’re no longer pursuing it. And the cheery on top… this from Arshavin’s agent

Andrei Arshavin’s agent has rubbished claims that Arsenal are in talks with Zenit St Petersburg over a possible deal. Sky Sports suggested the UEFA Cup holders were ready to sell their prized asset to Arsene Wenger but the player’s agent Dennis Lachter says ‘the reports are nonsense’. Russian playmaker Arshavin wants to leave Zenit in order to further his career, with a number of clubs interested in the £20million rated star. Arshavin previously admitted he wanted a move to Spain but he hasn’t closed the door on a move to the Premier League.

Reports claimed Arsenal and Zenit were in talks over a deal but Lachter says it’s news to him.

He said: “People at Sky Sports had been trying to get an interview with me all day. After I refused they made the story up from their own imagination. I don’t know where they got this from. If there is a bid, then it’s one I don’t know about.”

BUT…there’s more! The Guardian says that Arshavin has confirmed the interest saying, “I hope the clubs can come to an agreement,” which is about as brief and non-specific a quote as you could get.

But the Dailymail say he has been shown around the training ground at London Colney but his agent would surely have to know if he came to London? Surprised no one saw him at the airport he’s a pretty distinctive looking guy…

So take your pick folks. You can believe whatever you want because every possibility has been covered by the media lol

It just gets to the point where even if you wanted too you could hardly work out who has it right. So it’s just easier to wait for something official rather than to try and follow the speculation :D

  20. NY-Gunner says:

I would have thought we have much greater needs in defense and the center mid

not doubting that Arshavin is quality just not sure if he should be top of the shopping list

great vid thanks for posting that

  21. hector says:

i have the same tiempos as cesc! only different color and mine don’t say cesc4 I wish I had a pair with cesc4 on them that would so rock

  22. fonz says:

    Awesome vid

Yeh. I should’ve said Arshavin *might* be good for us if we sign him. Had a sudden rush of blood to the head but fook me it was nice to have sumthin to get excited by lol

  23. matt says:

considering Arshavin’s age and the amount they supposedly want for him I cn’t see this coming off

i mean 20 mill… that would be a lot of the budget this cud only happen if zenit are prepared to move a lot on price imo

  24. TA says:

pheweee! Arshavin has passed the all important mj looks test. Arsene can breathe a sigh of relief and really work hard on signing him now :D What’s 20 million when you can sign a good-looking hobbit.

  25. mj says:

Well Arshavin is quite good looking so I think I would be ok with us signing him :P Do we have a height restriction on midfield? Does poor Djourou and Ade have to get on their hands and knees to get into our dressing room? Is it like a hobbit hole? lol

Seriously, Arshavin would be good but count. chickens. hatch. and all that :D

Thanks bri…I’m feeling a bit homesick to be honest. I guess it was having to leave the beautiful summer for this freezing cold

  26. TA says:

Thanks Rosie. That is a cool video. Boot making is quite the art form.

Arshavin could be good for us… but skysports ‘understands’ things all the time that aren’t true. I’m not believing anything until there is an official announcement of a signing. Rosie I think you will have to pass your skeptics crown to me. If it’s alright with you George… I think I’ll be king rather than ‘queen’ of the skeptics. I look terrible in a dress :D

  27. Rose says:

    Thanks Fonz :D

lol queen of the skeptics? Hey now lol I’m not that bad :D OK maybe I am :D Yes I will accept that Zenit St Petersburg confirming talks is proof we are after Arshavin :D I’m not going to get my hopes up though until he is holding up an Arsenal shirt and smiling for the cameras. You know how disappointed I was when we didn’t get Alonso…

I agree with you George that there are areas that perhaps need strengthening more but January is a tough window to find the right players in and we could do with more depth wide. We could use more depth everywhere.

I don’t know how good Arshavin is, I’ve heard good things but I’ve only really seen him at the Euros so I don’t know enough to form a real opinion but IF we sign him then Arsene will think he is good and that’s good enough for me :D

TA Nike put the video back up :D

  28. George says:

Rosie,,, I think Arshavin is a target even you queen of the skeptics will have to admit Zenit confirming talks is pretty ‘concrete evidence’,,, so what do you think of Arshavin?

I’d rather see a first class DM come in than sign Arshavin but it doesn’t look like there are any real options available right now,,, so we might as well sign the best wide player available and I suppose that would be Arshavin. Oh well at least like Arsene he has a name just made for Arsenal lol

  29. fonz says:

Skysports say we are in talks for Arshavin so it’s definite now! He’ll be great for us

  30. goonergal says:

Awww he was such a cute kid!

  31. jas says:

bri I think hes gone up a size or two XD

that pic is just *faints* thanks for that!

  32. Rose says:

hmmm that’s strange TA Nike removed it – I wonder why. They only added it last night – maybe it was a mistake :S

  33. bri says:

Hey hon! Good to see you glad you got back safe and sound *huggies*
    thanks for the info too.

Jas you’re right, those trackies look almost the same as the ones he wore on Saturday lol

  34. jlo says:

meri that was my favorit pic 2! jus so cute they both look too young to even be playing haha XD

  35. TA says:

The video isn’t working for me :(

  36. mj says:

hi hi everybody! finally back in the US and back on-line :)

Bri… I don’t know much about it but I believe it is like our Christmas, the three kings are sort of like Santa Claus. Children send the Kings letters and then on the Eve of the festival the kings bring the presents overnight to all the children and they leave out food for the camels in much the same way as we leave out a cookie and a glass of milk for Santa. I think this is the day for gifts but I don’t know if in Spain they also give some gifts at Christmas or how they celebrate Christmas day, sorry.

Rose and I have been trying to read up on this lol at the moment we are confused as to whether the kings come on horse, camel and elephant or if they all just come on camels lol so we may have got a few bits wrong!

hiya Jas, yes that is Cesc’s sister Carlota on the king’s knee. I don’t know who the other little girl is, sorry.

Update: Ok a nice spanish person has let us know that we are morons and that Spain has Christmas just like us and that this festival is just for kids and pretty minor now.

*blush* so I guess we are just dumb foreigners lololol oh well – you learn something new every day :D

  37. ~meri says:

feliz dia de reyes to you too! Thanks for all the pictures. There is one old one of Robin and Cesc you added that is just so sweet :0)

  38. jas says:

do you know who is the first pic with him? is that his little sister on the kings knee? I see he developed a taste for grey track suit pants at a very young age hahaha XD very cute thanks for posting these

  39. bri says:

too cute! So is this day like Christmas day for the spanish? Or do they have two big days?

  40. sam says:

Cool video thanks Rosie :D I definitely like the look of Cesc’s boots better than Ronaldo’s pair. Green just doesn’t do it for me!

Having the gift giving on the day the 3 magi shuffled up with the presents for Jesus is actually more logical in a way than the way we do it… methinks… anyway feliz dia de reyes :D

  41. kim li says:

They really do a lot of hard work for the boots. I wish could buy the boots without cleat as quite cool!

  42. shosho says:

    Thanks for the cute pics!

  43. George says:

When I think of the 3 kings I think of that great kiwi song,,,

We 3 kings of Orient are
    1 on a tractor
    1 in a car
    1 on a scooter
    tooting his hooter
    following yonder star

not really relevant,,, sorry. Anyway to those who celebrate it,,, have a good one!

  44. emma says:

    so cute…….hehe.tq.

  45. snap says:

awwww hes adorable! I hope the kings bring Cesc some nice presents!! XD Happy 3 kings to those celebratin!

  46. siew lan says:

awwwwww!!! Cescito is so cute cute cute la! Feliz dia de reyes XD
