Cesc Fabregas web chat

28 December 2008

This is an oldie but a goodie! Back in November 2006 Cesc took part in a web chat and answered a wide range of questions from fans. Everything from ‘what his favourite sandwich is?’ through to ‘who his favourite Premiership players are?’ and a lot more besides! Thanks to Plu for reminding us about the chat, I had some of it downloaded but had missed parts… so thanks to you for letting me know I had missed some! The sound and video quality is poor, sorry, but it is still well worth a watch! Part one is above and Parts 2 and 3 are below the cut

Also for anyone who missed it The Sun had an interview with Cesc the day before yesterday where he talked about how fortunate he was that his injury wasn’t worse and emphasised that he is staying positive! All his comments can be read here.

Good luck to the gunners today against Portsmouth! You can do it lads!

  3. Plu says:

    Hi XaviXavier :)
The press often make up a lot of rumours. I would not listen to them if I were you.Cesc is always linked to Real Madrid, but never once has he said he wants to go there. On the other hand, he has often talked about his love for Barca.
I can understand you feeling upset about Cesc leaving to go to Arsenal, but he did that to further his career. And I think when/ if he moves from arsenal, then he will do so to further his career again. And the most likely place he will move to is Spain and Barcelona. Not Madrid. He is a Barca fan, and so it would not add up that he would move to Madrid.Just like I doubt he would move to another English club, I doubt he would move to another Spanish team aside from Barca. So I wouldn’t worry if I were you :)
I don’t think he will move next season,if he does at all. He has only become captain and will still want to prove himself. I think the earliest that he could possibly leave is the season after the next season.

  4. XaviXavier says:

I am Catalan and live in Madrid. Here all the press is saying that he will come play with the Real Madrid next year. As a Catalan and fan of the Barça FC we were upset when we chose to go to Liverpool, now we are really mad that he can even consider going to the Real Madrid. I hope he will consider his decision very carefully. The live of a football player does not end once he finish as player, he then becomes a member of the society, part of a family of a city etc… Where he will go, when that time comes, if he choses wrongly? Will he try to claim his Catalan roots then?

  5. Rose says:

Hi Emma, we will be posting news related to Cesc and lots of pictures :D We’ll do our best to keep things lively!

Er…and Sambo hon, I really wish you had waited before saying anything at all. No reason to make it sound like we are going to struggle for content when we are NOT. Everything is cool!

  6. emma says:

    Dear Sam
I agree with Plu…any news related to Arsenal n any pic with Cesc will surely make everybody happy n excited.

make this web lively while waiting for capt Cesc returned.

maybe somebody could arrange for Cesc to send some comment here for us to read since he is just sitting on sofa n lying in bed for 1 month……sure he can do alot of internet search n reading…esp since this web is dedicated for him.

  7. sam says:

That might be the go Plu we might just broaden what we cover just to try and keep things interesting and so that everyone has new things to read :D

  8. plu says:

maybe if you updated with arsenal news in general…and post a random picture of cesc with each post, so that posts are still cesc related….

  9. Mimmy says:

    Hi…these are just gr8.
I love him when he says that he tought that they where going to break his car lol.

Mimmy. xxx Cesc 4 Life xxx

  10. sam says:

Hi Bri :D Well that’s something I hadn’t considered. I’ll wait till Rosie and mj get back and see what they think…

  11. bri says:

Sambo, I know there might not be as much news as usual… maybe you could make this a fansite for some other Arsenal players too like Eduardo or Clichy? Just a thought…

  12. kakus says:

fanx 4 tellin wat hes tatto says coz i neva new it :)

  13. sam says:

I don’t know George I got nothing at the moment…waiting for inspiration to strike. Certainly we need to come up with an approach because the interview I posted earlier today was basically the same set of quotes being re-hashed for the 3rd time in a week and we can’t string those out for 4 months!!

    PS Leila…he’s a man…he’s alive…so you could be right…. :D

  14. george says:

I’d like the site to keep running,,,but of course it’s going to be difficult I guess? I mean I don’t suppose there will be much news now for a few weeks at least, no match photos and no video highlights including Cesc,,, obviously we are all watching games but Cesc won’t be playing for a bit,,, yeah I can see it will be hard to keep updating every day or two under the circumstances,,,what are you thinking of doing Sambo?

  15. ida says:

thanks for the videos!! Nutella… like seriously yuck!! XD XD

  16. sam says:

I know George believe me I know. It’s gonna take the best part of 2 weeks to paint it and that’s with both my brothers and one of my uncles pitching in… but the weather is great so it hasn’t been too bad

Anway, George I meant to ask you and the other regular commenters… what do you think we should do with the site for the next few months?

  17. George says:

You’re painting your dad’s place that’s a massive job,,,and I’m not trying to give Robin a hard time,,, I mean he does a lot of good things and has a lot of great games just never two in a row,,, maybe we need to find a way to work with that

  18. leila says:

Wow so many questions I had are answered!! Haha he is so into Eva Longoria and he can not even remember the male Desperate Housewives characters name!! haha I SO know why he watches that show…it is to perve on Eva lol

  19. kim li says:

Someone make Cesc a bionic knee! We need him now! Thanks for webchat

  20. sam says:

Hey Bri :D Rosie called me and so I got instructions on how to fix it so we are up to date again. She and mj are back Jan 3 as mj flies back to the US Jan 4. Momorangi is in the Marlborough Sounds. Their family has a beach house there, it’s really nice. I would have gone but I promised my Dad I’d help him paint the house.

Haha George… so you reckon Robin should only start every second game? I think that’s a tad harsh man but I can see why you feel the way you do… the guy is fairly inconsistent.

Hi Sandriita, the question at 1:57 is ‘Who’s your football hero and why?’ The sound is not great but if you turn it up full, it’s not that hard to hear what is being said, you might have to replay a couple of bits twice but it’s audible :D

  21. NY-Gunner says:

We sure do miss Cesc. We look very ordinary without him. Glad we managed to grab the three points we need them and now we have to hope that Hull can help us out when they play Aston Villa.

  22. sandriita says:

what is the question in 1:57?

  23. george says:

Well three points is good. Good to end the year with a win. I think from memory we started the year with a win,,, it’s a pity about all the sh*t that happened in between tho.

I don’t know why Arsene rested rvp. Does he not understand he needed to rest him against Villa,,, maybe bring him on for 10 at the end,,, because Robin has never ever had two good games in a row,,, so if he’d played him for 10 minutes against Villa then rvp might have scored today.

  24. nzgooner says:

Just a few more random thoughts…Diaby played quite well in the middle. Obviously Gallas saved our bacon and made up for conceding the penalty against AV to some extent and it was good to see him celebrate the way he did. Although I think he will still leave, some have claimed that celebration means he is still passionate about the club but for me it could equally have just been joy at proving a point to his detractors, rather than any long term desire to stay. Who knows.

There were a couple of positives but let’s face it the woodwork was our best friend and while it’s true that Arsenal has hardly been fortunate in 2008, the truth is in these last two matches luck has been very much with us.

Also a special mention must go to David James. Thanks very much.

  25. bri says:

lol that’s alright Sam it doesn’t matter… all the fixtures are listed under the Arsenal tab anyway! I just thought may be you forgot! Where is Momorangi again? When are the girls back?

  26. sam says:

I know Bri! Embarrassing but true I don’t know how to update it :( The girls do but they’ve gone away with their family and I’m on me own. So it still says Aston Villa. I’ll txt Rose and hopefully she can fix it up but they’ve gone to Momorangi and the signal there is intermittent.

Agree with you 100% nzgooner! It’s almost sad that our expectations have gotten so low that if we play fairly poorly and most of the team fails to show up… but we scrape a win against a poor side we are delighted! Sigh. I admit I was just so happy to have 3 points I can overlook just about anything!

After the Eboue incident I really hoped people at the games would think twice about booing anyone on our own team. Hell if they want to boo, boo the opps like they did against Liverpool!

Plu this is what Wenger said about rvp -

“I took the decision not to start him because he was on the edge because he gave absolutely everything on Friday. I didn’t want to take a gamble to bring him on because in cold weather like that he would need a long warm-up and I believe it would not have been alright.”

  27. jas says:

That webchat was so good! I hope they will do another one with him some day so I can ask some questions lol

So cute when they ask him about being a heart throb and he says he’s really pleased hahahaha cute Cesc the sex symbol FTW!!

    Glad we won today! XD

  28. max says:

1 nil to the Arsenal – Thank God for that!

  29. nzgooner says:

Well as TA said a win is a win and we’ll take it. Still, overall another poor performance from us today. I thought putting Bendtner on the wing was inspired though and he did better there. Shame on the people who booed him.

  30. plu says:

‘i just play football. But if that is the case then I am really happy as well’ lool. Who doesn’t love to be a hearthrob? The blushing part was adorable!!

    cesc:i’m maybe 5/6th, I’m very good
question guy:…so your pushing for a spot in europe.(best line of the whole thing!!)
cesc:yeah exactly, that is why I’m training every afternoon’
    LOL

    Die bleep test!

If people were shaking my car, I so would not stick my hand out. O_o

    nutella sandwiches <3

alex song really does have a bad dress sense.

    ‘kolotour’. ^^

  31. TA says:

Phew!! A win is a win! I’ll take it. Let’s hope we can string a few wins together and AV drop some points. We need to get some breathing room

  32. plu says:

It’s incredible how many messages I’ve had — more than when I won the European Championships with Spain

That bit made me laugh for some reason. Nice to see that he is being positive. ^^

And yay. Arsenal didn’t concede a goal in the last few minutes XD.
Go gallas. It was nice to see all the team go run up to him. The unity of the squad seems to be there. I remember a while back, there was a time when nicky scored, and only walcott ran up to him t congratulate him.

The team did well in the last few minutes to try keep pompey off the ball. Ade especially. But Ade really should have scored that goal earlier on in the match. Perfect opportunity. Ah well. I’m just happy that we won XD. And overall, we didn’t play that bad. XD And vela played which made me happy. ^^ Don’t know why rvp didn’t play though. Is he injured?

  33. sandriita says:

someone could put what he said? I don’t understand any things
    Thanks!

  34. bri says:

Thanks Sam! Honey you haven’t updated the next fixture btw just in case you forgot :D

Good luck to the boys I’m sure they’re gonna win this!

  35. george says:

Thanks for the web chat,,,the funny thing was half of the things he was saying about the 2006/07 season he could be saying about this season!

    Good luck to the lads.

  36. lola15 says:

Thank you! He is so cute!

  37. siew lan says:
