Here’s some nice news from Arsenal. As you may recall last Sunday, as part of the Be A Gooner, Be A Giver campaign, players, directors and many club staff donated a day’s wages to the Teenage Cancer Trust. There were also collections, raffles and auctions taking place in various areas of the stadium and 50 pence from every programme sale went to the charity, which is dedicated to improving the lives of young people with cancer. In total the club raised 200k towards it’s 300k target.
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas said: “Christmas is a time for giving. On behalf of all those who made a contribution, we say a big thank you and Merry Christmas.”

We won’t be online very much over the next week. So we hope that you and your family will have a safe and happy festive season and “normal service” will resume from January 3rd!

Agreed Sagna played out of his skin. Hopefully we do better against Pompey.
Wenger is obviously angry that Villa had people talking to the ref at half-time and there should be rules against that… but we also have to accept the ways in which we are not good enough and the mistakes we make because if we don’t we are just going to always be whining and sound like we have a persecution complex and we won’t fix what needs to be fixed.
Our defence need to sort themselves out. Sagna was brilliant yesterday. That acrobatic clearance off the line was amazing. Five live could not stop talking about it. It was quite funny how they kept going on about it.
The other defenders need to be more organised. How is it that there were 3 defenders v four av players for the equaliser, in the 92/3rd minute?
And the midfield players really need to learn to help out with the defence.They did pretty well though considering. I can’t believe we went 2-0 up in the first place. The amount that av were pressurising us in the first half was immense. It should have been 4-0 to them by half time. So in that sense, I am happy we have a draw. Before the match, I had no idea how we were going to create any chances, let alone score any.
But on the other hand, we could have got those 3 damn points if the team learnt to defend better. And what is happening to the team inujury wise? They all seem to be getting injured.Djourou and clichy before the match? Could there be something wrong with the way they are warming up or something?

Sagna was immense. Legend absolute f**king legend. The draw was depressing after we were 2-0 up but as the game started to be honest I would have grabbed it… what with Cesc, Ade, DJ, Clichy all missing and Theo and Tomas of course. I think we have to accept we’re a team with little depth and once we have 5 or more of our first choice players missing we struggle.
Thanks George for the link. It would be great if he could return by mid-march but I think everyone including Cesc just has to wait and see how it goes, his body will heal at it’s own rate.

We don’t have any one commenting called blu… maybe you mean plu? Anyway back when Eboue was booed Rose posted a link on the site for people to send messages of support to the club for Eboue. The messages were sent to the club via the supporters centre on Arsenal.com. The club passed the messages on to Eboue and he e-mailed a note of thanks.

I hope Djourou is ok. It was a big ask putting Kolo in there when he has been out for several weeks. I hope Song will be ok for all that people criticise Song I believe he would have helped us defend our lead. He put in an immense defensive performance when we beat Chelsea.
I was glad we got the point all things considered. At least we are not in the horror position of being 6 points adrift of Villa. We can consolidate. I have given up on the title but I so want fourth. The title would be nice but fourth is non-negotiable, fourth is like fighting for life itself. I don’t care what anyone says about finishing outside the top 4 not being the end of the world. To not be top-four and to not play CL would be a kick in the teeth like no other.
I feel totally dejected. I know that a draw was a fair result, but f**k me it’s depressing how bad we’ve become.
I’m not sure if I’m disappointed or relieved. On the one hand sucks to draw 2-2 after being 2-0 up but on the other hand we were lucky as hell to be 2-0 up as Villa could have gone into half-time 4-0 up,,, seriously they could have won it in the first 20 minutes,,, they hit the woodwork 3 times. So I guess I should take a point and be grateful
now it’s 10 points and that’s 4 points too far off the pace imo for the end of the year. Damn thought we were gonna knick it too.
we managed to grab a draw from the jaws of victory. A draw is not a bad result and there were patches where we played well but… giving up a 2-0 lead that probably flattered us a bit really hurts. We need a new defensive coach we should be able to defend 2-0 leads.

Well Santa bought me a Fabregas away shirt so I was pretty stoked!! Now I just need him to bring Cesc a brand new medial collateral ligament, he needs to bring Arsene some good buys in the transfer windo and he needs to bring the club a trophy and I’ll be pretty damn happy!!

well first i have to say that i am so proud woth my team the 2nd half was just amazing theyshowed their character overthere altough cescwas injured but i went to bed that night so happy with my taem . thank god i am a gooner
good news from liverpool game
1- arsenal made all arsenal fans proud . thank u arsene . thank u arsenal
2-van persie scored one terrific goal with his RIGHT LEG
3- adebayor improved his passing sjills
4- our defence is improving
5- we did great withoutcesc in the 2nd half and that is great for the confidence of the team
6- when fabregas went out nasri took contrlol of the game and did very good job
7- the fans are behind the team again ( the were terrific against liverpool )
8- we showed when we even play with 10 men we can play great and conrol the game and we played our style of football
bad news
1- fabregas is injured for 4 months
2- we are at the 5th place
3- we lost ade for the next game
