Spain 1 – 0 Bosnia Herzagovina

7 September 2008

Cesc fabregas in action against Bosnia Spain got their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a winning start tonight. It was their 24th straight victory but their first under new coach Vicente del Bosque. Cesc Fabregas started the match in a different position to that he occupies for Arsenal but adapted to his unfamiliar role in the five man midfield behind lone striker Villa. In the 57th minute he found David Villa with a perfect pass which Villa slotted home after rounding the keeper. Cesc made way for Xabi Alonso after 65 minutes. There is a match report at Reuters, video and photos after the jump!

Cesc happy at Arsenal

Cesc has dismissed media reports that the new owners of Manchester City are interested in signing him by telling Sports.es that “It would be career suicide at 21 years of age to join Manchester City. It would make no sense” he also said that he was happy at Arsenal and committed to the club.

Hopefully there will be more photos from the match tomorrow. I’ve also added a few from training earlier in the week.
