Amsterdam Tournament

8 August 2008

Cesc Fabregas plays against Ajax If you were going into withdrawal after more than a month without being able to watch Cesc play football, you will have been thrilled to see him back in action against Ajax in the Amsterdam tournament. Arsenal staged a great come back to win the match 3-2 after first going 2 behind after Ajax scored twice in two minutes! Two great goals from Adebayor and a third from Bendter ensured that the scoreline reflected Arsenal’s on field dominance. Photos from the match are after the jump

At the end of the game Cesc Fabregas told Sky Sports, “That is what it is all about, we want to be there in the Champions League and opponents like this are ones we shall face. The boss said we were second best in the first half, but we created chances and in the second half were more aggressive, I think we deserved it.”

He also added, “I love playing for this team and for these fans… I will always give 100 per cent.” Here’s the match report.

*Although Cesc didn’t play in the Emirates Cup he was in attendance to support the team and I have added a few pictures below*
